Physiotherapy

Self-Management

At PhysioWakefield, we are advocates of supported self-management for common Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.

Initial Assessment

Once you have entered the service, our team of expert clinicians will review your referral information and place you on a waiting list for an appointment.

Gym-Based Rehabilitation

Our Gym-Based Rehabilitation pathway provides you with a tailored approach to recovery in a non-clinical, gym-based environment. Here you will have access to gym rehabilitation equipment through the guidance of your clinician.

Group Exercise Programmes

Also held at our own health and wellbeing hubs are face-to-face group-based exercise programmes. Held in small groups of 8-10 people at our Wakefield and Pontefract Health and Wellbeing Hubs, each 45-minute session is led by one of our MSK Clinicians.

Shockwave Therapy

At PhysioWakefield, we offer Shockwave Therapy as part of one of our evidence based clinical pathways. In line with national guidelines, this non-invasive treatment may be recommended by our MSK Clinicians to help manage pain, promote healing and support recovery for certain conditions, such as tendinopathy.

Physio Fit

Physio Fit is designed to help you regain confidence and re-engage with physical activity after completing rehabilitation.

Health Coaches

With a holistic approach to your MSK care, our experts come from specialist nutrition and exercise backgrounds that have focus on facilitating behaviour change and improving people’s quality of life.
