Shockwave Therapy

PhysioWakefield offers Shockwave Therapy as part of one of our evidence based clinical pathways. In line with national guidelines, this non-invasive treatment may be recommended by our MSK Clinicians to help manage pain, promote healing and support recovery for certain conditions, such as tendinopathy.

Shockwave Therapy uses sound waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissues, providing an effective alternative for patients who haven’t responded to traditional treatments. It is only available upon clinical discretion and is not accessible through direct patient referral. Your clinician will assess whether Shockwave Therapy is appropriate for your condition and recovery goals.

If this treatment is recommended, it will be included in your personalised rehabilitation plan to support your progress towards recovery.
